You have a bright future, Haruna Iddrisu to Napo. Control your temper,

Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has urged Energy Minister-designate Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to control his frustration and be careful on how he talks to the nation’s people.
During his screening by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Friday, February 12, the Tamale South legislator told his colleague representing Manhyia South that he has immense promise ahead of him, so he needs to be careful of how he carries himself when provoked.

The remarks of Haruna Iddrisu came after the candidate engaged in a tense banter with Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament of North Tongu, who tried to find out from him why he made such statements in the past that were perceived as insults to Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, former Minister of Education, who is Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s predecessor in the Ministry of Education.

” Haruna Iddrisu said, “When you were asked by the Honorable Ablakwa and Suhuyini, I was not especially pleased with your mood. Mood since, as noted by one congresswoman, inspection of this type is to look at the knowledge of the subject matter, IQ, disposition, and service to the Ghanaian people.

What they were trying to do was that you certainly would have had your own opinion of who you achieved in the past, maybe call it exuberance, before taking office.

“But I realized that you were not especially satisfied, and even though it was appropriate, you found it difficult to withdraw.
You don’t have to comment on this, so it’s your own advice. My mother said I should pray for my tongue each morning. So I’m going to leave it there, learn to pray with your tongue, and learn to regulate your attitude and attitude because as a young person, there is some promise ahead of you.

I guess we’re not allowed to use such strong terms. The political class may like to tell more about a former Head of State and former Minister of State in the opinion of Professor Oquaye, and we use vocabulary that when the public disrespects us, we ask who sold us cheap to the public. So, pray for a tongue of yours.

“You didn’t need to be provoked, I just think you should be able to handle it.”

The outgoing Education Minister, referring to the advice, said, “Thank you Minority Leader, I’m taking the advice for all of us.”
