Reverend Stephen Okan-Adjetey, the sole surviving son of famous Sergeant Frederick Cornelius Adjetey of the crossroads shooting event on February 28, 1948, has died.
After a brief illness, he died on July 27th, 2021 in the Ridge hospital in Accra. Only a few weeks after celebrating his eightieth birthday, he passed away.
Rev. Stephen Okan-Adjetey, a former pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, passed away recently. Rev. Stephen – Okan Adjetey was the point of contact for the media and other entities in regard to his father, Sgt. Cornelius Frederick Adjetey, who died in the February 28, 1948 crossroads shooting incident with Cpl. Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey. The gathering established the tone for political action that led to Ghana’s independence in 1957.
He was the central figure in the creation of the iconic documentary “The Unarmed Soldier,” which broadcast on Media General on Tv3 as part of the 2021 Ghana Month celebrations.
