Nine inmates from a Nigerian prison who recently escaped were apprehended in Ghana at Ada Foah.
According to the Ada District Police Command, who verified the arrests, they obtained intelligence that some Nigerians suspected of being escaped jailbreakers had been ferried across the Volta River into Ada Foah and were planning to travel to Accra.
Emmanuel Obinnah Chiedozie, 27, Steve Eyenuku, 33, Enebeli Lucky, 29, Yommi Usmah, 29, Keli Ekureni, 33, Freedom Yusuf, 25, Obi Onuora, 38, Patrick Chanar, 47, and Bless Eyenuku, 25 are the perpetrators.
Cash, personal possessions, passports and ID cards, and local currency have all been discovered on them.
The suspects are being held in detention to help with the investigation and will be handed over to Ghana immigration authorities.
