Dzifa Attivor, the former Minister of Transport, died at the age of 65

Dzifa Attivor, the former Minister of Transport, has died, according to 3news.com.

According to family reports, Madam Attivor died in the early hours of Tuesday, November 16 following a brief illness.

Professor John Evans Atta Mills first appointed her to public duty as a Deputy Minister of Transport in his cabinet.

Former President John Dramani Mahama promoted Madam Attivor as Minister of Transport in his government after assuming office in 2012.

She maintained this post until 2015, when she resigned as a result of the controversial bus branding controversy.

Madam Attivor later entered the Volta Region chairperson campaign of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In 2018, she was defeated by incumbent John Kudzo Gyapong in the elections.

She had run for the NDC’s Ho West Parliamentary Primaries a decade before, but lost to Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzra.

According to a family source, funeral arrangements will be revealed soon.
